I'm an Electrical Engineer (M.Sc., Ghent University) with 10+ years in automotive manufacturing at Volvo Cars β and I'm currently making a deliberate pivot into embedded systems engineering.
My background is in BIW manufacturing strategy, complex vehicle programme launches, and industrial automation. What I'm building now is hands-on embedded depth to match that systems-level foundation.

Embedded Learning Journey β Phase 1
Structured progression through bare-metal C on STM32 β GPIO, timers, UART, interrupts, and beyond. Each module is documented with notes and working code. -
Learning C fundamentals from first principles (private repo, may open-source selectively as it matures)
-
Exploring FreeRTOS task scheduling and real-time design patterns on STM32
-
Building small ESP32-based IoT projects as applied practice (sensor logging, MQTT, OTA)

Before focusing on embedded, I spent 10 years at Volvo Cars in progressively senior roles:
- Engineering Architect (BIW Lean Design & Early Investigations) β defining manufacturing concepts for next-generation platforms
- Area Leader BIW β led a 50Mβ¬+ programme launch in Charleston, SC, USA
- Equipment Engineer β Area Leader across multiple vehicle programmes in Ghent, BE
That experience gives me an unusual lens for embedded work: I understand production constraints, hardware reliability requirements, and the cost of getting things wrong at scale.
M.Sc. Electrical Engineering β Ghent University (2010β2015)
- Bachelor thesis: Intel Galileo shield for robotics system design
- Master thesis: Reconfiguration of wearable antennas through feed-line bias
