ctrlrun's LangChain middleware, CTRLRunMiddleware, is now listed in LangChain's middleware integrations. It went through LangChain's own listing process: a maintainer ran integration-run on langchain-ai/docs#6059, and the automated PR langchain-ai/docs#6064 merged on 2026-09-24. The row links to /guides/langchain-middleware.

  • Overview (index.mdx): Three ways in gets a short paragraph saying ctrlrun is an official LangChain middleware integration, with links to LangChain's list and the guide.
  • guides/langchain-middleware: a line near the top saying it's listed and that the listing links to this page, plus a Next-block link to LangChain's list.
  • CLAIMS.md: a row for the README sentence that The README says ctrlrun-langchain is an official LangChain middleware integration ctrlrun#236 adds (same-named branch). It cites the three tests in test_adapters_langchain.py that already assert a refused call never reaches the tool and names the rule.

No wording claims more than the listing does. It's an external listing in the All middleware table, not featured, and LangChain hosts no ctrlrun page.

The two site pages don't depend on the library PR and can merge first. The CLAIMS.md row describes a README sentence that lands with the library PR.

Checks run locally against the paired library branch: ruff, pytest (1,733 passed), snippets, lint, links, render_capabilities --check, render_readiness --check. One test, test_the_schema_and_error_pages_match_the_code, fails on a clean main too under local Python 3.14 (Union vs str | None). That's what python-314-union-rendering fixes, and CI here runs 3.12.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Added guidance on the official LangChain middleware integration and linked to its guide and LangChain’s integrations listing.
    • Clarified that the middleware gates all agent tool calls, including calls to tools users did not write, and that denied calls return the denial reason to the model.

LangChain listed CTRLRunMiddleware in its middleware integrations on 2026-09-24,
through its own listing flow (langchain-ai/docs#6059, merged as #6064), and the
row links to guides/langchain-middleware. The overview's Three ways in says so
and points LangChain readers at that guide; the guide says it is listed, and
that the listing links back to it, and its Next block links to the list.

CLAIMS.md gets the row for the README sentence the kernel's branch of the same
name adds, about what the middleware does: a refused call never reaches the
tool and the model is told which rule refused it, which three tests in
test_adapters_langchain.py already assert.
