Welcome to the Bitterroot Project Wiki!

Bitterroot is the name of both a platform (this app) and a classification (call number) system for documents which this app uses. The purpose of this wiki is to both help the user navigate the application as well as to understand the call number system.

The ultimate goal of this project is to better connect everyone to different academic scholarship — journal articles, theses, dissertations, and books. We believe that creating an organization system which prioritizes user legibility and topic specificity will help identify patterns of research across institutions and benefit researchers everywhere.
