You probably know me as the creator of Karui and LifeSim2k. Here is a bit more about me.
- I'm interested in building educational tools for low-bandwidth regions (offline-first bloatless interfaces). See my tech stack for my opinionated collection.
- I'd like to conduct and publish research on computational humanities with social simulation modelling.
- Around 2016 I saw an interactive fiction game which was very simple yet so funny, I wondered if I could make that too, learned twine, ink, inform6 (punyInform for a MSDOS game), and even made an interactive fiction game in TIC80 later with lua. I have since then been particpating in IFCOMP and SpringThing.
- Further searches introduced me to the Sumerian Game, The Oregon Trail, and the role of games like Age of Empires in education, this aligned with my interests in modelling reality and historical communications.
- Next learned to write php plugins for wordpress. But made some pages for an NGO so I believe that was useful. Moved my blog to jekyll later and homepage to Astro 7.
- Around 2020 I got really into processing but my computer couldn't run opengl well, so next was p5js, and then utilised sololearn and freecodecamp to learn javascript (completed the front-end certificate course in both). Used combined lessons from these for a pseudo 3d data visualization with zdog.js that looked different that anything else. Used it at some conference presentations too.
- 2023 onwards started obsessing over aframejs, and participated in gamejams, became a game engine hopper editing demos, but took that as an opportunity to learn more about other programming languages
- 2025 Made Karui todo, shintaku and a few other android apps, diving deep into frontend frameworks and comparing svelte, alpinejs, preact and vue.
- 2026 Recently got into size-coding, became a fan of allman style of braces.
🌱 I’m currently practicing Project Euler problems. I need to improve my mathematical thinking.
🥦 I am building a community around discussing simulation modelling, tech, programming, and sharing aesthetic interface designs. Show me your projects on our telegram or on our reddit
